When I Met My Dream Dog

I have a story, A romantic story. Well, that depends on what you think romantic means. On that day, February 1, 2010, I set my eyes on the most beautiful dog ever! Okay, she was actually the dirtiest dog ever, but I thought she was the best. Emily, the female Maltese dog, was at the SPCA animal shelter in Cape Town, South Africa. 


We had been dog hunting for 2 or 3 days, and we hadn't found any small dogs at any of the other animal shelters. But the SPCA had tons of small dogs!  


Emily was really dirty the day we met. But on the date of February 8, when we picked her up... she was beautiful! She had gotten her fur cut, and she had also gotten a bath. 




Well, I guess you could call this love at first sight, not just for me but for her too!! We fell in love, and when I asked Dad, "Can we get her?" He said yes!!!  When we picked up Emily, at first I didn't even recognize her! 






I was so happy when Emily was in my arms again!! I now feel like I can't live life without her, I love my Emily so much! 
We play a lot together, but she doesn't like swimming at all!!

    What a cute dog! I'm a little jealous seeing you in short sleeves while there's still snow on the ground here ;-) I hope you're doing well and that you're enjoying Cape Town. We miss you at church!

    Emily is adorable, and I am so so so happy that my sweet niece who LOVES dogs has one to love and care for! YAY!!!

    Great story! And so well written, too. Sounds like Emily is quite some dog! I love the 'after' photo - she looks so happy!
